Illustrated Story: Climb Every Mountain. Quick.
Any hillclimb event is close to my heart, and I often ponder about whether I'll ever get the chance to take part in one. Pretty sure I'd do decent as a newcomer because of knowing when to shut up and racking up more than a decade's driving experience in varied road conditions on the technically challenging mountain roads around my hometown, Kodaikanal, in South India. Actually came achingly close to participating in one, but the event got cancelled on raceday because of disgraceful organisation and rowdy spectators. My biggest dream is becoming a pro driver, and I'm not talking golf. VW Golf, genius. Oh. Puleeeze! While I for certain share that with so many men and women across this planet, there sure as hell ain't no law against trying to envision the dream. This is my concept illustration, a Maruti Suzuki 800, a ride pretty much every person in this country knows personally, but post Santosh Rajkumar Works. It gets uprated brakes, suspension, wheels, and a retro wing in front for inter and cool. The 796cc, three-cylinder engine now generates around 90 bhp with the 'bo up from the standard 38, with weight dropped to 600 kilos. I know, it's about power-to-weight and power to wait. Till then I picture me rollin' in my 800 Suzuki...
